Handley 2009 Gewurztraminer
Home > Wines > Eclectic Whites > Handley 2009 Gewurztraminer
Most of the fruit for this Gewürztraminer blend comes from the Boonville end of Anderson Valley, where the warmer weather tends to encourage tropical fruit and floral aromas as well as ripe tannins for this "spicy" grape. This vintage offers enticing aromas of lavender, honeysuckle, pear, incense, white peaches, and orange zest. The aromas are complemented by the textured palate, with flavors of grapefruit, citrus, lychee, and a hint of baking spice on the finish. It is balanced and fresh enough to be served as an aperitif or with many recipes. Its rich texture pairs nicely with cheeses, as well as with Chinese or Thai dishes.
